Hello,
I'm chasing my dream of having my own TV Show. It's going to be called "The Shit Show." I want it to be about the shit nobody wants to talk about but should be addressed. I am a creative who has aspirations to have my own business one day. All things had been going great, I was on my way to Atiba Jefferson's Heart-Shaped Box exhibit. I was amazed I was even able to get in and that Blake Anderson was going to be the DJ. It was the perfect mix of all the things I love and want to do in the future. Met some cool guys at this bookshop Family they were going to be heading there after they closed. I told them what I do and they told me I should start selling at the Rose Bowl Flea Market they told me it was $9 and I was like "Wtf that's like fate dude cause that's the name of my business!" I told them I'd see them later and when I walked out I realized that the volume of the succulent book I bough was 9! I was like oh shit today is the day things are going to happen for me. Then I got in my car accident and have been on a hiatus but I'm trying to make things happen for myself and start where I left off that's why I'm contacting you today. I started writing comedy not too long ago for someone but nothing's become of it yet. Anyways, it's my passion to want to use discussion and comedy to try to expose culture gaps, and inspire people to look at the world through a Sociological lens. I love comedy so the show has to have humor but also because of something I read, "...comedy cures us of our folly by showing it to us on the stage..."(arnet, Sylvan, et al. “The Comic ViewMo.” Eight Great Comedies, New American Library, 1964, pp. 7–7.) I want to highlight important changes that need to be made in society for growth to take place, I think I'm going to ask people to watch certain videos on important topics prior to the interview and ask them key components to enlighten viewers. I also want to end the interview with like the same 4 questions:
-What is the biggest lesson you've learned in your life?
-Is there anything you would do differently or plan to change about yourself in the future?
-If you could change one thing about the world what would it be?
-Who is the most inspirational person you know and why?
(I want to ask this so that I can ask that person - if they're available - to be on the next show)
I also love music so I want to tie that in too by having a playlist that is a combination of music chosen by all who are attending the interview.
To make things easier for guests I was thinking we can all just be at home behind the computer and just have live skype or something I know there's plenty of websites that provide video chat type services. So the point of this long winded email, is to say or rather ask you if I could interview you guys for my show. Your guys' journey is an inspiration to people living out their dreams. If you're available, and given ample enough time in advance to schedule availability, if you would be willing to participate in it by being interviewed?
Thank You,
Alicia Monique Corvera
